CPCS Tower Crane – A04a & A04b Course
The CPCS Tower Crane – A04a & A04b course is designed for individuals who operate or intend to operate tower cranes in construction environments. This training ensures operators gain the necessary skills and knowledge to operate tower cranes safely and efficiently, whether they are self-erecting (A04a) or static (fixed) tower cranes (A04b), following industry regulations and best practices.
Course Overview
This course provides a comprehensive blend of theoretical and practical training on the safe operation of tower cranes. Participants will learn how to safely erect, operate, and dismantle tower cranes, including load handling and working at height. The course covers both A04a (Self-Erecting Tower Cranes) and A04b (Static Tower Cranes), ensuring that operators are fully prepared for the complexities of working with different types of tower cranes on construction sites, ensuring compliance with LOLER 1998 (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations), PUWER 1998 (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations), and BS 7121 Safe Use of Cranes.

Course Duration

Certification
Successful candidates will receive the CPCS Red Trained Operator Card for Tower Crane (A04a & A04b). This can be upgraded to a Blue Competent Operator Card after completing the required work experience and NVQ assessment.
