Excavator Micro (up to 1 Tonne) (N016) – NPORS Accredited Course

The NPORS Micro Excavator (N016) course is designed for those operating compact excavators of up to 1 tonne. Often used in tight or restricted areas, this course is ideal for operatives working on domestic, landscaping, or utility projects.

Course Overview

This training focuses on the unique safety challenges and operating techniques of micro excavators. Learners will develop confidence handling, transporting, and maintaining small machines while adhering to recognised site safety procedures.

• Health and Safety Awareness Safe operation of small plant in confined areas.

• Pre-Use Checks Daily inspections and reporting defects.

• Machine Controls and Stability Understanding layout, balance, and operation of compact equipment.

• Excavating Techniques Digging, backfilling, grading, and working close to obstructions.

• Transport and Access Loading and unloading onto trailers, and working in tight access zones.

• Shutting Down and Securing Safe isolation and end-of-shift procedures.
