Agricultural Tractor (N601) – NPORS Accredited Course
The NPORS Agricultural Tractor (N601) course is designed for individuals operating tractors for agricultural, grounds maintenance, or construction purposes. The training covers safe use, trailer operation, attachments, and manoeuvring.
Course Overview
Operators will learn to handle a tractor with and without attachments, perform safety checks, and operate across varied terrain. The course focuses on safe site travel, PTO (power take-off) awareness, and towing procedures.
What the Course Covers
Health & Safety Principles Understanding risks associated with agricultural equipment and rural sites.
Pre-Use Checks Conducting inspections on tyres, brakes, lights, and PTO guards.
Machine Controls Familiarisation with transmission, hydraulics, and controls.
Driving Techniques Manoeuvring in open fields and confined areas, including reversing.
Towing Trailers & Implements Safe coupling, uncoupling, and towing procedures.
Post-Use Procedures Parking, isolating, and securing the tractor.

Entry Requirements
No experience required for full course
CITB Health & Safety test required for NPORS-CSCS card path
Certification
Upon completion, candidates will receive a NPORS Agricultural Tractor (N601) operator card (Traditional or CSCS route).
