Crusher (N207) – NPORS Accredited Course

The NPORS Crusher (N207) course is designed for individuals who operate crushers for demolition, quarrying, and material processing applications. This training ensures operators understand the safe and efficient use of crushing equipment on-site.

Course Overview

Operators will learn how to safely set up, operate, and shut down crusher machinery. The course covers material handling, hazard awareness, machine controls, and environmental considerations when operating crushing plant equipment.

What the Course Covers

Health & Safety Principles
Identifying site hazards, working safely around heavy machinery, and understanding dust, noise, and vibration risks.

Pre-Use Checks
Inspecting machine components such as belts, guards, conveyors, and feed hoppers.

Machine Controls & Functions
Familiarisation with control systems, emergency stops, start-up/shutdown sequences, and monitoring performance.

Material Processing
Feeding materials safely, avoiding overloading, and managing different material types.

Blockages & Fault Management
Recognising and managing blockages, isolating machinery correctly, and performing safe intervention procedures.

Environmental Awareness
Understanding dust suppression, waste handling, and minimising environmental impact.

Post-Use Procedures
Cleaning, isolating, and securing the crusher after use.

Course Duration

  • Novice: 2–3 Days

  • Experienced Operator: 1 Day (Assessment Only)

Entry Requirements

  • No experience needed for full course

  • CITB Health & Safety test required for NPORS-CSCS card path

  • PPE is required for all practical sessions

Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive the NPORS Operator Card. Depending on your requirements, this may be either the standard NPORS card or the NPORS-CSCS Construction Plant Operator Card, which is recognised on UK construction sites.
