CPCS Excavator 180° Wheeled (Above & Below 5 Tonnes) – A12 & A10

The CPCS Excavator 180° Wheeled (A12 & A10) course is designed for individuals who operate or intend to operate 180° wheeled excavators in construction and earthmoving environments. This training ensures that operators have the necessary skills and knowledge to work safely and efficiently with both small and large 180° excavators.

Course Overview

This course provides theoretical and practical training on the safe operation of a 180° wheeled excavator for both categories:

• A10: Excavators below 5 tonnes

• A12: Excavators above 5 tonnes

Participants will gain hands-on experience in machine control, excavation techniques, and site safety while ensuring compliance with industry regulations, including PUWER 1998 and LOLER 1998.

• Pre-use checks, routine maintenance, and shutdown procedures

Course Duration

Certification

Successful candidates will receive the CPCS Red Trained Operator Card for the relevant category (A10 or A12). This can be upgraded to a Blue Competent Operator Card after completing the required work experience and an NVQ assessment.
