The NPORS Grader (N240) course is designed for individuals who operate, or will be operating, graders for surface levelling and ground preparation. The training focuses on safe operation, blade control, site travel, and working to specification.
Course Overview
Operators will gain practical skills in operating a grader across various ground conditions. The course includes machine setup, levelling techniques, working to site plans, and safety protocols for construction and earthmoving environments.
What the Course Covers
Health & Safety Principles
Understanding site hazards, safe working practices, and the importance of communication on-site.
Pre-Use Checks
Carrying out daily inspections including tyres, hydraulics, fluid levels, and safety features.
Machine Controls
Familiarisation with grader controls, steering systems, blade adjustments, and attachments.
Driving & Manoeuvring
Safe operation in open areas and tight workspaces, including reversing and turning techniques.
Levelling & Blade Operation
Using the grader blade for cambering, grading, and trimming to required specifications.
Post-Use Procedures
Parking, shutting down, and securing the grader in line with best practice.

CITB Health & Safety test required for NPORS-CSCS card route

Certification
Upon successful completion of the course and assessments, learners will receive the NPORS Operator Card. This can be issued as either the standard NPORS card or the NPORS-CSCS Construction Plant Operator Card, recognised across UK construction sites.
