Lorry Loader (N107) – NPORS Accredited Course

The NPORS Lorry Loader (N107) course is aimed at individuals who operate vehicle-mounted hydraulic loaders, often used for lifting and transporting materials directly from delivery vehicles. This includes operators in logistics, construction, utilities, and the supply chain.

Course Overview

This course equips learners with the skills to carry out safe lifting operations using a lorry loader (HIAB), including using remote or manual controls, understanding load limits, and working with lifting accessories. It also covers relevant legal responsibilities and site safety.

What the Course Covers

  • Health & Safety Legislation
    Understanding LOLER, PUWER, and working at height considerations.

  • Pre-Use Inspection
    Daily checks on the crane, stabilisers, and lifting equipment.

  • Setting Up Safely
    Deploying stabilisers, identifying ground conditions, and ensuring safe working zones.

  • Safe Lifting Operations
    Lifting, slewing, and placing loads using both hook and grab attachments.

  • Load Assessment
    Understanding load charts, capacity limits, and planning safe lifts.

  • Stowing & Shutdown Procedures
    Returning crane to travel position and securing equipment.

Entry Requirements

Certification

Successful candidates receive the NPORS Lorry Loader (N107) operator card (Traditional or NPORS-CSCS route).
