Road Roller (N214) – NPORS Accredited Course

Course Overview

Learners will develop practical knowledge of roller types, vibration functions, surface considerations, and safe machine operation. The course includes inspections, safe movement on slopes, and effective compaction methods to meet specification.

  • Health & Safety Responsibilities Understanding roller-related hazards and site control measures.

  • Machine Overview & Functions Controls, vibration settings, drum types, and performance factors.

  • Daily Checks & Maintenance Identifying issues and conducting preventative inspections.

  • Compaction Techniques Compacting granular materials, tarmac, or sub-base using appropriate passes and overlap.

  • Working on Inclines Understanding weight distribution, braking, and tipping risks.

  • Post-Operation Procedures Correct shutdown, parking, and securing methods.
