The NPORS Rough Terrain Lift Truck (N009) course is designed for operators who use lift trucks in challenging environments such as construction sites, farms, and uneven terrain. The training focuses on safe operation, load handling, and manoeuvring in rough ground conditions.
Course Overview
This course equips learners with the practical skills and knowledge needed to operate rough terrain lift trucks safely and efficiently. Trainees will cover machine controls, load management, stability principles, and environmental awareness specific to off-road conditions.
What the Course Covers
Health & Safety Awareness
Understanding operational hazards, stability risks, and relevant site safety regulations.
Pre-Use Inspection
Checking tyres, forks, mast, hydraulics, and safety systems before operation.
Machine Controls & Functions
Familiarisation with lift truck components, steering modes, and control mechanisms.
Operating on Rough Terrain
Driving and manoeuvring on inclines, uneven surfaces, and confined areas.
Load Handling
Lifting, transporting, and placing loads safely; managing different load types and weights.
Stability & Load Security
Understanding load centres, weight limits, and avoiding tipping incidents.
Shutting Down & Securing
Best practices for parking, isolating, and securing the lift truck after use.
