Course Overview

This course introduces learners to key legislation, site hazards, risk control measures, and safe systems of work. It also supports progression toward a CSCS Green Labourer Card when combined with the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test.

• Introduction to Health & Safety Law Understanding the Health and Safety at Work Act and employer/employee responsibilities.

• Site Hazards & Risk Controls Slips, trips, falls, manual handling, noise, vibration, and hazardous substances.

• Working Safely Around Plant and Equipment Traffic management, exclusion zones, and pedestrian safety.

• Fire Safety & Emergency Procedures Fire prevention, evacuation plans, and first aid awareness.

• PPE & Personal Responsibility Correct selection and use of personal protective equipment.

• Reporting Unsafe Conditions Near misses, unsafe behaviour, and whistleblowing procedures.
